"We are now in the 3rd month of working with Sweet Science at Burlington Danes Academy and have been hugely impressed with the quality of the sessions provided. We have currently targeted 3 groups and have observed a significant decrease in students without kit (0% this week), and a dramatic increase in the motivation of our students. Leroy has an excellent manner with the students and has already developed a strong rapport with his teaching groups. All students are fully engaged in the sessions and have shown high levels of progress in every lesson. The feedback from students has been particularly pleasing, and as a result we are now looking to expand our work with Sweet Science to incorporate a behavioural programme and lunchtime and afterschool sessions in addition to intervention work within the PE curriculum. The tone of the boxing sessions has changed both student and staff perceptions of boxing due to the non-contact, skill and technique focussed delivery and we are very excited about the development of boxing within our school.

Mr M Jerred, Director of Learning Year 10
2IC PE Department. Burlington Danes, Hammersmith

The non contact boxing classes have gone down a storm at our school. The sessions have been fun and extremely educational.
The teaching is both enthusiastic and motivational. The boxing sessions are reaching and appealing to pupils that would normally not fully participate in physical education lessons. It has reached the de-motivated and the disruptive pupils, both of which have put a lot of effort into the classes.
I would recommend these classes to any school for any pupil.

"The service that Sweetscience has provided here at Northwood Prep since last year has gone beyond just the physical aspect, their programme has social and moral values and has kept our students completly engaged throughout. We continue working with Sweetscience and feel that all schools would benefit from these expertly delivered and educational classes."

Mr Ian Rice - Deputy Head, Northwood Prep

"We have been working with Sweet Science for over 6 months. During this time they have established an excellent working relationship with both the school and students. The instructors demonstrate the activities in a very positive manor and this reflects in the students attitudes to the sessions. The exercises are aimed appropriately at student’s ability and as a result everyone has been keen to take part. The sessions are well structured and most importantly safe! The equipment that is used is of a high standard and this I believe adds to the overall quality. I have no hesitation in recommending them to other schools and colleges.

At the start of the year I wasn’t sure about the nature of boxing and how it would work in a special school. Six months down the line my attitude has completely changed and I now recognise the many benefits that students gain from the non-contact drills and techniques demonstrated by Sweet Science.”
